Crime Solvers' Weekend

Love crime fiction and solving mysteries along with your favorite detective? Dust off your deerstalker hat, shine up your gumshoes, and join us for a jam-packed weekend!

Friday, March 22

  • 10 am. Tour the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations building on the BGSU campus. 750 N. College Drive. Event limited to 25, reservations are required. Call 419-352-5050 to register.
  • 7 pm. After Hours at the Library Exclusive: Meet Hank Phillippi Ryan, New York Times bestselling author and Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter for Boston's WHDH-TV. The Atrium. Free. Tickets available from the form below.


Saturday, March 23

  • 10 am. Meet K9 officer Arci, a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois certified in Patrol and Narcotics work, and his partner, Sergeant Gordan Finger, of the Bowling Green Police Division. Come watch BGPD's remarkable crime-solving duo in action.
  • 2 pm. Murder & Mayhem in Wood County. Even rural areas like Wood County experience their share of salacious crime. Aided by a display of artifacts from actual events, provided courtesy of the Wood County Historical Center & Museum, Local History Librarian Marnie Pratt shares some of the county's most (in)famous true crime stories and reveals a few previously hidden by history. 1st Floor Meeting Room.

The event is free, should I bring my ticket(s) for it with me?  Yes, please bring a printed or electronic copy of your ticket(s) to the event.

Is there assigned seating? No. Seating is by general admission.

Will books be available for purchase at the event? Yes. Copies of select titles by Ms. Ryan will be sold by the Friends of the Library. Checks or cash only, please.
