Kroger Rewards

The WCDPL Foundation participates in the Kroger Community Rewards program. Year after year, local schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations earn millions of dollars through this program.

Kroger Community Rewards makes supporting the library easy. All you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Plus Card!

New participants can find WCDPL by entering either "Wood County Public Library Fndtn" or its Kroger Community Awards account number, QA684.

Planned Giving

A planned gift, often referred to as a legacy gift or estate gift, is a donation that is designated for a future date. This gift is made through a formal financial or estate plan.

Including the WCDPL Foundation in your estate planning directly benefits our ability to provide materials, resources, and services in the future.

Types of planned gifts:

Bequests: Name the WCDPL Foundation as a Beneficiary in Your Will

A bequest, also known as a gift made through a trust of will, can be made several ways:

  • You can gift a specific dollar amount or asset.
  • You can gift a percentage of your estate.
  • You can gift residual bequests; after bequests to heirs and beneficiaries, all remaining assets are given to the WCDPL Foundation.

Charitable Trusts

Donor Advised Fund

IRA Gift

Life Insurance

Outright Gift: Make an Outright Gift of Cash, Appreciated Stock, or Real Estate

Retirement Plan Assets

Planned gifts allow you to make a gift to the WCDPL Foundation without impacting your current financial situation. These types of gifts also provide a tax advantage.

We would welcome the opportunity to talk about what planned giving option works best for you. Please call Jessica McClure, Director of Development, at (419) 352-5104 ext. 232 to get started.

A background of books with the title Novel Night.

Novel Night

The goal of the WCDPL Foundation's Novel Night is to raise funds for library materials through ticket sales, sponsorships, and auctions. It is the generosity of sponsors and donors which make it possible for proceeds from the Benefit to be used for the purchase of new books, audiobooks, eBooks, picture books, and large print books.

Our annual Novel Night benefit will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Bowling Green City Park. Tickets are now on sale for $100.00, and can be purchased online or at the Bowling Green Library Checkout Desk.

Supporting Novel Night

We hope that you will consider supporting Novel Night by becoming a sponsor. The purpose of your gift remains, as always, to purchase books and other materials that will educate, inspire, and entertain our patrons. Your generous response will help make that happen.

To support Novel Night, you can:

  • Contact Angie Babcock at (419) 353-8044.
  • Mail a check (made out to the WCDPL Foundation with Novel Night in the memo line) to 251 N. Main Street, Bowling Green, OH 43402, or drop it off at the Checkout Desk at the Bowling Green Library.

Here are some compelling reasons why Novel Night is so important to the library:

  • 23,867 cardholders borrowed over 604,000 books and other items in 2024 from Bowling Green, Walbridge, and the Bookmobile, demonstrating that WCDPL remains an integral part of the communities we serve.
  • 37,054 people attended library programs in 2024, including book clubs, storytimes, and author visits. The library is an active place dedicated to learning and discovery opportunities.
  • The library saw 152,951 total visitors over the course of 2024, drawing nearly 3,000 people cumulatively per week.

Major sponsors of $1,000 or more will be recognized on a permanent plaque in the library and on our 2025 Novel Night Donors page.
